Welcome to 2017. Can you believe it? Last year seemed to have flown by so quickly. I hope that you enjoyed your New Year celebrations and that you are ready to tackle (and by tackle I mean WIN) this new year. We’re in the second week of January already. We have been given an awesome opportunity to take another step forward. 2017 can be a new start to or a continuation of your amazing story. Whatever you do, don’t give up!
2016 brought with it an array of experiences. Some were wonderful and others awful. I get it. I love the fact that regardless of what has happened in our past, our future offers endless possibilities for growth, change, healing and forgiveness. We can be free and live life on our terms.
I’d like to encourage you to move forward this year. Forward down your path. Forward on your journey. Forward with your hopes and dreams. I want to see you THRIVE despite the things and people life has thrown your way.
Below are some tips to move forward emotionally and mentally when dealing with difficult people and circumstances:
1.) Talk to someone about it. This may mean seeking professional help.
2.) Express yourself to the one(s) that caused you harm.
3.) Decide how important resolving the issue is.
4.) Decide if you’re willing to give up any level of happiness or peace because of the issue(s).
5.) Stay in control of your emotions.
6.) Don’t ignore your emotions.
7.) Choose how you will positively handle the outcome of addressing your issue(s) or concern.
8.) Forgive offenses and keep an open heart toward positive people.
One of the most important steps is to LIVE your life, intentionally, making new and exciting, memories. Never allow anyone or anything to permanently limit you from living a life of substance and happiness.
I’m rooting for you. I’m rooting for us all. I want 2017 to be the year we reach goals, experience healing and disconnect from anything toxic. I’m especially passionate about those in unhealthy relationships and those who are living on autopilot, living without intention and purpose.
Always know your what, why and how. What do you want? Why do you want it? How are you going to get what it is you want? These three questions are the start of any change and outcome you desire. They will help keep you focused. You are in control and you have options.
