Life is full of things we don't like. Unfortunately, one of those things is pain. But pain is really a gateway. Pain is an opening we go through to get to another side of life and ourselves. The reward is often more clarity, a greater sense of identity, purpose and passion. Would you think with me for just a moment? What is one thing that you're going through that's really bothering you? WHAT IF you overcame or conquered that thing? How would you feel? WHAT IF you went from imagining it to walking in the reality of it? That's going beyond the pain. That's what I did to heal and move forward despite my past of abuse, depression, #chronicillness, and being suicidal. I didn't let it take me out. I fought back. Finally.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #MomentswithMissy #MsMissySpeaks #DomesticViolenceAwareness #notavictimanymore #startingover #abusesurvivor #livingagain #depressionlookslike #HealingFromDV #beyondthepain #somebodyhelpmeplease #gonethroughhelll #happythoughtsonly #wannabehappyagain #justwanttobehappy #brokenbutbeautiful
When you think about love what is it that comes to mind? If you could describe your perfect Prince or your perfect Queen what would they be like? What does love look like to you? Your ideas of love probably don't include being intimidated, frustrated, isolated or in distress. I doubt your idea of love looks like you without money, resources, family and friends, or a good night's rest. I doubt it looks like you being afraid for your life or the lives of your children. You deserve the love that's beautiful. You deserve the love that's pleasant and peaceful. You deserve to freely be you and to live life well. If you aren't sure if your relationship is a healthy one then more than likely it is not. Reach out and get help. There are many resources. Follow this profile @MomentsWMissy and visit my website if you'd like more information about abuse or Illinois-based shelters. I'm a survivor. So are you. 💜💪🏾 #MomentswithMissy #MsMissySpeaks #notavictimanymore #domesticviolenceawareness #abusesurvivor #ifyouonlyknew #sotiredofitall #ifwallscouldtalk #somebodyhelpmeplease #emotionalabuseisstillabuse #beenthroughhell #gonethroughhell #gladthatsover #imcomingout #loveislike #happythoughtsonly #wannabehappyagain #brokenbutbeautiful #bossbabes #loveisreal #lovedoesnthurt #wherearethegoodmen #goodmenstillexist
This book is a constant reminder that I did not quit. I didn't quit on myself and I didn't quit on the book-writing process. #MsMissySpeaks is a memoir and an experience. I cover an array of topics giving the reader insight into my life post abuse and #depression. I share the processes that I used to find Hope and happiness after trauma and despair. Writing is my therapy and sharing my story is my ministry. #HealingFromDV ___ My book is available via my website. You can also go straight to Amazon or Kindle as well as the Google Play Store. The link can be found in my bio.
It started with me being fed up with my life. Now the process continues with me being in love with the life that I've created. A lot of people don't know where to start when they're trying to redesign or recreate their life. Some people start with changing jobs. Some people start with changing significant others. I started with changing me. I went IN on me. I started focusing on the type of person that I was and, more importantly, the type of person I wanted to be. The process was tedious but it was fun. It felt so good to watch myself transform. I felt like a giant when I'd tell somone, "no", without over-thinking my answer. Boss moves is more than making money and driving fancy cars. Boss moves is being in the driver seat of YOUrself. ___ Join my mailing list and keep in touch with me. I love sharing my tips and tricks about how I became my Boss. Tonight was beautiful. I'm always honored to be among survivors. I had an opportunity to speak, too. It was an extra special treat to have one of my younger sisters with me. I even got a chance to see a friend from high school. It feels good to be able to share my journey of hope and healing with the world. I'm so glad that my pain didn't take me out. 💜💪🏾
